Why Friendster Blog?
Most of my blogging friends are Blogspotters and I’m the only one whose left within the confinements of Friendster. To state the truth, friendster blog isn’t really blog friendly; tweaking is limited, widgets are limited, space is limited and access is limited. It’s behind compared to other social networks and as Jiji pointed out in her post, it’s just too late for Friendster. So maybe, one might ask, what made me stick around? the answer lies in the fact that was pointed out by Jiji as well: Not that much people pay attention to Friendster blog posts.
The only passion I was able to carry on to my adult life is writing. I had given up on guitars and singing at a very early age and writing is the only one that stuck and took a firm hold on me. When I write, I immediately go into trance and I’m completely on hold until I finish the particular piece. Writing is more than just encapsulating my thoughts into words. It’s leaving a part of myself for the world to feel. It’s mincing my consciousness and translating it to something tangible and legible. But all this only to certain extent, and that is if people care enough to find my words. In Friendster I’m obscure and hidden away from word vultures. Nobody’s out to pick on my remarks and my opinions and I like the fact that I can be free without worrying about libel suits and/or angry/violent comments. The few people who’d care enough to read my blog are also the people who will judge me by action and not by words ;P
Friendster blog is accessible for me. I hate having to memorize usernames and passwords, I already get a lot of that from work. In Friendster I can access my social network and my blog using one set of username and password.
Lastly, Friendster blog is simple. I’m not techno (techy? wtf is the word?! hahaha!) and the simplicity friendster brings is in harmony with my stupidity. i don’t have to worry about making my blog as spunky as the others or adding a lot of stuff in it. My ignorance is my bliss and in friendster I get to enjoy that ignorance.
So pardon me if I’d rather stick with the underdog that is Friendster, but right now I’ve no plans of seeking greener pasture. This is where my blogging home is, that is until the 60 disk space runs out ![]()
